I’ve just been re-reading Derek Jarman’s Garden book with its beautiful photographs and evocations of the wild shingle landscape on that part of the coast. Dungeness – the light, the water, the wind, the poppies…and the nuclear power station. Contradictions, and bleak beauty, which Derek made magic.
