Possible Invitation for a Film Festival
Dear Sally,
I'm a Syrian filmmaker who graduated from the Northern Film School in Leeds and still working for them as a lecturer. Am currently in Syria, (my home country), having my summer holiday. I'm a member of the National Film Org of Syria which is equivalent to British Film Council or maybe BFI!). the organization is part of the culture ministry and the only body in Syria which still making films, they also run an international film festival; Damascus Int Film Festival. I'm helping them at the moment for the preparation for the next session which will take place in Damascus between the 20-27th of Nov/05. they want a British female filmmaker to act as a juror for the International jury for one of the festival competition. I put your name as one of 2 nominees. I want to find out if you might be interested. The choice of jurors for this festival are chosen carefully from reputable high profile people from world of filmmaking from around the world; last session head of feature jury was Sheila Whitaker. The Festival will cover all expensive such as plane ticket, posh accommodation and some living expenses. You'll have great fun in the oldest city in the world; Damascus.
